Nancy Grace Biography | Wiki
Nancy Grace was born October 23, 1959 in Macon, Georgia. She is best known as the host of her own victims’ advocate/celebrity news/current affairs show on HLN called Nancy Grace, launched in 2005. Her no-nonsense approach to issues, from what she describes as a “victims’ rights” standpoint, is delivered in an outspoken style that has brought her both praise and criticism. She was also the host of Court TV’s Closing Arguments (1996–2007). Nancy Grace co-wrote the book Objection!: How High-Priced Defense Attorneys, Celebrity Defendants and a 24/7 Media Have Hijacked Our Criminal Justice System. She was the arbiter of Swift Justice with Nancy Grace in the syndicated courtroom reality show’s first season.
Due to the show relocating from Atlanta, Georgia (where Grace lives), she was replaced by former Clark County District Court Judge Jackie Glass. The show was not renewed for a new season under Glass. After losing her fiancé, Keith Griffin, to murder when she was only 19 years old, Grace enrolled in law school and went on to become a felony prosecutor and supporter of victims’ rights. She received her Juris Doctor from Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer (Macon, Georgia) and went on to earn a Master of Laws in constitutional and criminal law from New York University, working her way up through the ranks, starting out as a legal writer then clerking for a federal judge, etc.
She worked for nearly a decade in the Atlanta-Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney’s office as a Special Prosecutor before accepting an offer from Court TV to do a legal commentary show alongside now-famed attorney Johnnie Cochran (both famous and infamous as the attorney who got former athlete O.J. Simpson off pretty much scot-free after Simpson was accused of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman). After her stint with Court TV, Nancy Grace moved to her own show in 2005, where she remains to date. She is also known for signature exclamations during the show, such as: “Bombshell Tonight!” “Unleash the Lawyers!” and “Cut his (her) mic off!”.
