John Krasinksi’s Reported Career Earnings

Income from The Office:

Krasinksi’s breakthrough came in 2004 on the NBC sitcom The Office, which aired for nine seasons. For the first two seasons, Krasinski earned approximately $20,000 per episode. Once the show became a big hit, he and the rest of the cast were able to negotiate higher salaries, earning himself $100,000 per episode. 25 episodes a season meant Krasinski’s annual salary totaled $2.5 million.

Krasinski should also expect residuals checks to continue to come for decades because of the show’s popularity. Unfortunately, it looks like his deal didn’t cover any points, so he will have to be satisfied with the basic SAG-AFTRA residuals. Unlike his co-star Steve Carrell who probably could retire on those residual checks alone.

Income from jobs outside of acting

Outside of The Office, Krasinski has kept busy and proven himself to be multi-skilled. Not only has he taken leading roles in blockbusters and indie movies, but Krasinski also has producing, directing, and writing credits.

The highlight so far being the horror movie The Quiet Place, which he wrote, produced, directed, and co-starred with his wife Emily Blunt. The movie has a 95% Rotten Tomatoes rating and earned $340 million worldwide and spawned a sequel. His earnings have not been reported for the movie, but we can safely assume, as a producer, that there were points negotiated in the contract.

Commercial Work

Krasinski has been taking commercial acting jobs since he first moved to New York to pursue acting. Nowadays, he does not even need to appear in the commercials. He has been the voice for Esurance commercials since 2011. According to IMDB, Krasinski has lent his celebrity voice to other major brands, Apple TV, Ask.com, and Blackberry Storm.

In 2020, Krasinski joined forces with celebrity pals Chris Evans and Rachel Dratch, starring in a popular Super Bowl ad for Hyundai. How much did he make for that 30 second part? A local ad exec who has worked on Super Bowl spots told the New York Post “It ranges from $500,000 to $2 million depending on the commercial and the celebrity,”.
