John Elway earned his net worth through his career as a quarterback for the Denver Broncos of the NFL. John Elway was the co-owner and CEO of the Arena Football team the Colorado Crush and served as the chairman of the AFL executive committee. In 2011 he became the General manager and executive vice president of football operations for the Denver Broncos.

Elway owns two restaurants in Colorado which are appropriately named “Elways”. He previously owned five car dealerships, and is still the owner of two Toyota Scion dealerships. He became a spokesman for OpenSports.com in 2008, where he wrote an NFL blog post every week. John Elway was born on June 28, 1960 in Port Angeles, Washington. John’s dad was a college football coach.

When the elder Elway landed the head coaching job at Cal-State-Northridge in 1976, the family moved to Southern California. John attended Granada Hills High sShool for three years. He then attended Stanford University where he played both football and baseball. Elway was Pac-10 Player of the Year and a unanimous All-American in 1982 and later had his Stanford Cardinal #7 retired.

He graduated with a degree in economics then immediately entered the 1983 NFL draft. He was the first overall pick by the Baltimore Colts. Elway refused to play for the Colts and was quickly traded to the Denver Broncos where he remained for his entire 16 year NFL career. As a Bronco, Elway won two Super Bowls and was a Super Bowl MVP. He was selected to nine Pro Bowls and was a First-team All-Pro in 1987.

He was named the NFL Most Valuable Player in 1987 and led the NFL in passing yards in 1993 after being named the NFL Man of the Year in 1992. Elway is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame and his #7 was retired by the Denver Broncos.
