David Spade Biography | Wiki
Born David Wayne Spade on July 22, 1964, in Birmingham, Michigan, US, he left a permanent mark in the world of show biz with his signature nasally and high pitched voice, as well as his use of cutting and sarcastic one liners. While Spade’s low-key demeanor and boyish looks made him easily adopt a rather childish stage personality and mask his sharp humor, which the comic turned to his advantage and made his stock-in-trade throughout his career. David Spade made his breakthrough and enjoyed greatest stardom for playing some aspect of his own persona on “Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 1975- ).
He soon translated his success on the big screen, playing the lovably loud Chris Farley in the comedy classic “Tommy Boy” (1995) and its disappointing follow-up, “Black Sheep” (1996). Spade only added up to his already growing popularity starring on the hit sitcom, “Just Shoot Me!” (NBC, 1997-2003). At the same time, he became famous for a string of high-profile, beautiful girlfriends – including Heather Locklear and Lara Flynn Boyle. However, Spade tried to be as private, hardworking and pragmatic about his success as he could possibly be.
He lent his voice in Disney’s titular “The Emperor’s New Groove,” and appeared in the cult hit “Joe Dirt”, as well as stayed in close touch with his former SNL colleague Adam Sandler in a variety of projects, including in the hit comedy “Grown Ups” (2010) and another popular sitcom, “Rules of Engagement” (CBS, 2007- ).
Even though he didn’t come to a massive success like SNL peers Sandler or Chris Rock, David Spade did carve out his own Hollywood niche, which is impressive because of how unexpected it was.
